17-Year-Olds Applying For A Learner’s Permit


  1. Submit Contact Form.
  2. Hickory Driving School Calls within 24 Hours.
  3. 17-year-old students DO NOT need to be sponsored by a driving school to purchase a learner’s permit.
  4. Purchase Learner’s Permit at New Jersey DMV or Hickory Driving School can purchase a learner’s permit on behalf of the student.

    Information Needed:

    • Original Birth Certificate with Raised Seal or Valid Passport
    • Blue Card Passed Written Driving Test or Complete Written Driving Test at DMV
    • Social Security Number
    • Parent’s Driver’s License
    • Corrective Lenses if needed
  5. Complete Eye Test.
  6. Complete Written Driving Test if needed.
  7. Acquire Learner’s Permit.
  8. Hickory Driving School Agent assigns Driving Instructor.
  9. Driving Instructor contacts student to set up driving lessons.
  10. Parent requests Insurance Discount Certificate.
