About Us

Hickory Driving School was established in 1980 by George Deo, a graduate of the University of Akron, where he played football and earned degrees in Education and Supervision. George taught Physical Education for 33 years, and during that time he taught Driver Education to hundreds of students. Many years later, Driver’s Ed driving classes had been cancelled at most high schools. George felt that students, and anyone wanting to learn to drive, should have the very best chance to learn the very best driving skills, so Hickory Driving School was born to continue offering driving classes.

Recently, Hickory Driving School was taken over by Brent Conly, a great friend and former student of George’s, and a highly educated Phys Ed teacher himself. Brent’s pledge to keep the legacy of Hickory Driving School growing and expanding is the new level of never-ending promise from one of New Jersey’s most respected, certified state driving schools.

At Hickory Driving School, we ensure our students receive excellent defensive driving skills and techniques in our driving classes. Because of this commitment, Hickory Driving School is one of the most respected certified driving schools in New Jersey.
